Willowtree Grove is prepping for the first full moon of May and the celebrations of Beltane!

SPEAKER_00

It's the end of the week here in Willow Tree Grove, and it's time for our weekly catch-up. By popular demand, I have moved this broadcast to the Sunday. Apparently everybody thinks it's a good way to actually wrap up the week instead of only doing it on Saturday, so I get it. I've heard you. Sunday it will be. Now what a week it has been, my dear listeners. The sun's out, spring is blooming, and the energy of May is vibrating through the air with intensity, and dare I say, mischief. But let me not get ahead of myself. Let us start with the premonitions this week, since there's so much happening next week in terms of events. I've got an ice coffee here, and a plate full of cookies, so let's dive in together to the news. The energy of the upcoming blue moon has truly started to affect our poor wares as we get close to the first full moon on the first of May. Wares around town have felt the changes in different ways. Some have been faster to anger, some faster to laughter, or even just physically things are happening. They're twitching more, or have more sensitivity to sense. Or in the case of one very specific wear, they now sneeze every time someone turns on a light. To say this has been taken advantage of by the children of said wear is an understatement, and I send them my deepest regrets. I would also like to send some thanks from the elders and myself to the truly large amount of weares who volunteered their time for the elders and me to experiment with the energy fluctuations around them. Elder Poppy is feeling very hopeful that the information that is being collected will at some point aid in the creation of some sort of regulatory device to help wares against any adverse emotional or physical effects due to the imbalance of moon power. A lot of words for them to try to get a paracetamol for the cramps during that time of month. I know I survive off of that, so I will be volunteering my time to aid in the creation of whatever our lovely shapeshifters need. Now, what does all this have to do with the premonition for this week? Well, as you may remember, the premonition was someone is going to lose their favorite item of clothing after seeing a deer. Well, though it is very rare, one of our pancake pack younglings, Jerry Piller, I know you're eighteen now, Jerry, but you are still quite new to your wear shifting, was out with some friends at the lake. In a rare move from a group of teens, they were all just calmly chilling, relaxing with their books. Being quiet enough that the fauna found them not to be a threat. A small doe stepped forward to take a sip of water, and crossed paths with Jerry. Their eyes met, and, according to the teen, his feeling of awe was almost immediately replaced with the primal need to chase. He shifted completely beyond his own control, tearing his favorite swim trunks to shreds, before quickly getting control once again and reverting to his human form. Now naked, of course. Now I am glad to report that his friends immediately sprung to his aid and did not jeer or mock him in any way. Unfortunately, the trunks were beyond repair. And sorry again, Jerry, for the loss of your favorite item of clothing. Now, for next week's premonition, we have the following An antique is going to find its way home. A very exciting revelation for the thrifters or people who lose trinkets around town. Good luck out there. I will cross my fingers for every one of you. Now to the events. There are two big events coming up next week, and they are both happening on the same day. The first full moon of the month and Beltane are happening this May first. As you all know, Beltane, or May Day, marks the midway point between the spring equinox and the summer solstice, or the first day of summer as we like to celebrate it, where we pay tribute to Bellanos, our very stern healing god, or as the elders like to still call him, Apollo. To celebrate Beltane, we will start the day with a ceremonial herding of the livestock, where Delphine has collected the most adorable gaggle of coddly baby animals for the townspeople to slowly escort and potentially cuddle from the town center to the farm. During which, of course, we will be chanting and carrying the shepherds and their sheepdogs. Hopefully, we will be seeing the first blooms of the hawthorn on the herding walk. Throughout the day there will be cellar stalls around town for summer crafts. There will be four maypoles set up along Main Street, for youngsters and people of increasing ages as you continue up the street. But the may pole in the clearing by the old wood will be running a little later, and will choose the lead chanter for the bonfire. So join that one only if you are ready for stark competition, and a very late evening of sizzling chance. Now each stall will also have a little riddle that, if solved, will award you a bushel of Mayflowers, or a roll of pretty ribbon, or any such lovely item to create a May bush of the Hawthorns. Make sure to get your riddle minds up to date so that we can really dress that hawthorn to its fullest and fanciest potential. Now, Roast and Toast will be providing a pile of bannocks for the whole town to grab and share with their loved ones. And if you want to take your celebratory snack on a nature walk, make sure to follow the paths marked by yellow flowers. The wares will only start shifting when the sun is fully gone, but it is important that you stick to the marked paths just in case. Now, speaking of our lovely wares, we will obviously have a clash of full moon and bonfire party times, so we are asking that everyone be as careful as possible to stay within the marked areas. The clearing has had shielding applied to it, and the path back into town as well. But wares can be very unpredictable, and the energy of this month will only make that more so. For my dear wares, there have been a lot of extra dummies made for Main Street. The Maypoles will stay up to then have the dummies hung upon them at all different levels, hopefully to create appeal and challenge. Sort of like a giant cat toy. A bit grotesque, but who is a non-ware to judge? All the new cages have been booked for all the younger wares, so the pack leaders will have less wares to look after, this full moon. The elders will also be handing out flower crowns that will be enchanted to throw off wear senses from all the bonfire enthusiasts. Now these protections will mess with spell work or any casting, so if you have any plans for this very powerful day, do just stick to the safest areas for it. And if any of the smaller covens want to cast, we do ask that you do not go into the old wood. There will be no protection services from any packs, as they'll be far too busy, and that will be a given really for the entire month of the blue moon. Elder Mildred has also put a little bit of time into making something similar to the scent training for the young wares that has been set about in the woods, if any wares venture out there. Now I won't reveal what exactly she has planned, but I think the wares will hopefully get quite a kick out of it, and still be able to have some sort of celebration for Baltaine as well. I hope everyone has a brilliant time. Let us keep our fingers crossed, that the sun does bless us for a good celebration, and best wishes to all the wares on such a powerful month. See you all there at the festival. That's all for now, my dear listeners. As always, have a soft and safe week. See you next time, here in Willow Tree Grove.
