A quiet week in Willowtree and a very important declaration of love!

SPEAKER_00

It's the end of the week here in Willow Tree Grove, and it's time for our weekly catch-up. The sun is out, and my attention is wandering, as I'm sure most of my listeners who suffer with the affliction of employment will also be feeling throughout the week. Even a short week wasn't good enough for me as my eyes wandered to the soft warmth of the spring sunlight that has been gracing our skies. The flowers have felt its presence as well, and the blooms are truly bursting forth all around town. I've got myself a lemonade to fully bask with, so sit back with me for the next few minutes as I regale you with the happenings of our little willow tree grove. First, I must speak of the single most important piece of news that has hit the streets of our little town, and it's been a while in the making. Let us cast our minds back to the events that took place on Astara those few weeks ago. There was a certain unknown individual disguised as a sun god who approached our Ashling and offered a flower that unfortunately caused a bit of an allergic reaction, and the subsequent departure of Ashling and the mask god behind them. Since then, there have been sightings around town of Miss Ashling seemingly lost in thought, grinning at some flowers, humming to herself as she idly strolls through the trees. The library was missing quite a few of the poetry that I love to reread, all checked out by the Mugsworth shopkeeper. Definitely not needed for potions or classes. Similarly, someone else was acting a little dazed, head in the clouds, thoughts perhaps taken away by a certain new person in their life. Enough to mess up my order for the first time since they opened shop. Well, the secret is out. The truth exposed. Piny declared her love to all in sundry as she listed a new item on her menu. A new lover's latte named simply Ashling. The shock when the first customers, which included yours truly on my morning walk, came in and read those words was palpable. Amazed, shocked, elated, just a few words to explain the vast amount of emotions that passed the faces of everyone present. And a cross between rose and salmon pink, I would say, was the exact shade that colored our darling Ashling's complexion as she stepped inside behind me. She did, however, and thankfully, take it for the compliment, and the public declaration of love that it was meant to be, with pride and joy, and the two lovebirds shared a hug and a brief kiss. I won't dwell on this longer for them, but congratulations, girls. Now, the good spring weather is truly here, and Adelaide's premonition of someone finding a coin in a rather strange place actually came into play this week during the first crowded picnic day at the town's namesake, the Willow Tree Grove at the very center of our small town. It was Wednesday afternoon, and a few families and a smattering of solo chillers were relaxing in the grove with a random array of picnic blankets and foldable seating. The grove, on a side note, is going to be a very prized picnic spot this spring and summer, because, yes, I know you might have heard this around town, the rumors are true. The great old willow, the oldest of the grove, has fully bowed over, completely, to rest its old weary head on the ground. The long tendrils of its grassy crown are splayed across the ground, creating a mound of green that the birds have taken quite the liking to. So as you sit there you can watch the feathered friends return to their nests in the soft dappled shade of an ancient. It is truly a magical place. Now back to the premonition, Mabel and Kenneth were picnicking with Juliet and her little triplets, when poor old Kenneth laid back to relax, and, in the comfort of the warm sun and a fresh breeze, he pulled off his socks and pulled down his hat. Soon enough his relaxation was interrupted by the slow build of raucous giggling, which then turned to full laughter from the triplets. He looked down to the source of their mirth to find a gold coin peeping back at him from in between his toes. Kenneth, when questioned, told me he was unsure of how this ended up in such a position, but he assures that he'll give it a good clean before returning it to the masses. Unfortunately, he has now been given the nickname Twinkletoes by the triplets, and that has spread like wildfire across all the Little Willow School. Good luck with that, Kenneth. While we're talking about the premonitions, we have a certain piece of news that is entangled with the new premonition for next week. The corner shop has teamed up with the Little Willow crafts lovers to host a mini raffle for some of their fruit-shaped bread baskets. The proceeds of this raffle will be going toward the upkeep of our new bee friends that are staying with us this summer. Now I myself will be buying as many tickets as they will allow me to physically. And my wardrobe has also been decided for me. As the premonition I mentioned went as such. Now I'm not sure if I have enough to wear every single day, so I might visit Pickering's to make sure I have a green pair for every day of the week. The raffle has already started selling tickets on Friday, and the winner will be pulled next Saturday. Good luck to all, though I hope to win. Now keep in mind as well that the new moon will be on the 17th, so if you need any crystals charged or spells cast that day, do keep in mind that the Rocks R Us is going to be closed Tuesday onward, because our crystals sales couple, extraordinaire, Sebastian and Clement Loop, are feeling too many of the effects of the coming blue moon. So they are training up their non-ware cousin to run the crystal shop for the month of May. There will, of course, be some crystals available at Crawford's, as per usual, and potentially Cormac might be getting some stuff out of the mines for people to inspect mostly the elders so that there aren't any uh crazy side effects that we're not sure of. And that's all I've got for you this week, my friends. A short one. A short one so we can all head back out and enjoy that sun. And that's all for now, my dear listeners. As always, have a soft and safe week. See you next time, here in Willow Tree Grove.
